Coalition for Bicol Development NGOs (CBD)
The Coalition for Bicol Development (CBD) is a regional NGO network whose membership includes provincial and city networks, regional sectoral networks and regional affiliates of national NGO networks. At the height of Philippines-Canada Human Resources Development (PCHRD) Program interventions, the Bicol-based NGOs were convened. These NGOs thereon decided to band together for organizational support and to define concretely how the NGO-PO community can contribute to the development of the Bicol Region. The CBD was established in 1996 as a result of these endeavors. It made efforts to consolidate the resources and activities of its member networks to pursue its development agenda and support each other’s advocacies. It also undertook capacity-building to strengthen organizations.
