National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) The National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATTCO) is a cooperative network of 420 primary cooperatives, 128 of this are direct affiliates and 6 regional organizations. NATCCO is proud to carry out a new mandate and to pursue the new vision of being ‘the most trusted world-class financial cooperative network.’ NATTCO’s roots can be traced in 1977. It was formerly a multi-service national cooperative federation formed by the credit union pioneers in the Philippines who believed that the task of cooperative development lies primarily in the hands of the private sector. NATCCO was organized in response to the growing needs of the primary cooperatives to facilitate training and educational services at the national level and to serve as the voice of cooperatives on national issues. It was registered with the Bureau of Cooperatives (BCOD) on June 20, 1977. The Cooperative Development Agency (CDA), a registering body for the cooperatives, subsequently confirmed this registration. In 2000, NATCCO underwent a transformation process which led to the amendment of its By-Laws. It has a newly defined vision-mission-goal (VMG) and subsequently focuses on financial intermediation. In 2005, it commenced with the transition process from the 3-tier to 2-tier structure and with the implementation of its new VMG.
